Quick bring to speed.
I didn't like running. Was fascinated by friends who could run for 2.5 hours non stop (half marathon), decided.... Lets do this!
I halfway through my half marathon training (12km/7ish miles) with 6 weeks left before I hit that distance, 12 weeks before my actual race.
Soreness in feet: plantar fasciitis. Healing with proper orthotics and stretches.
Next, soreness in shins... Shin splints.... Nooooooo
This week, I saw my physiotherapist, confirmed shin splints and warned me to ease up for a week or 2 with some new stretches... Do NOT want stress fractures here! And suggested pool running. Lucky for me someone I know lives nice and close and I can do that!
The now:
So this week was pool running on Wednesday which was quite interesting, running on the spot with a pool noodle around my waist. Was good though. And then yesterday was 6.5km. Done in probably my best time considering I walked all the hills.... I was sooooo hot! I was hurting a bit. I was monstrously thirsty.
And man alive today I woke up tired. Whole body tired.
But have no fear, today starts 3 weeks of a summer slim down plan. Bahahaha. It's like self torture sometimes I swear. But I love it.
Should be a fun day... Or few.
And now it is time to pack for a lake day.
No running. Just vegetables.
